FRIM Trip

FRIM, an abbreviation to Forest Research Institute Malaysia is located in the area of Kepong. It’s a very big place and by the name of the place… it’s a whole big area of trees, streams with some residential area for staffs and their family there and other buildings for management, museum and sort.

Together with other YACG and friends, we were there for a picnic!… I believe we brought too many food… over-prepared but hey, at least we know we got more that sufficient of source to chomp on and get some energy!

Makan time and… Photo time! Doreen preparing a cup of milo Daniel having his brunch
The insect that freaked Aaron and Melanie Chit-Chatting I am Aaron
Doreen freaked out by some dry fruit that dropped on her Time for some card game.. Dai dee! Us there… in FRIM, Kepong

The picnic area is near a stream and some waterfall, pretty nice view in some corners but sadly at some other corners. These some other corners, other people who had their picnic there and left their dirt - newspapers, plastic bags, more papers and just rubbish!… What a shame!

The stream isn’t that challenging as the Tapah retreat stream TRU went through in March, early of this year and not something much of a wow factor as far as I have explored some early entrance of the stream. However, I found something that’s worthy of the visit there and that I will keep for another post!… :P

Then we headed for the canopy walk. I was excited about it!… my first canopy walk…. but…… (yes, there’s a but!… sadly) it’s not a wow factor as well. Canopy walk was so so. To have the 30 mins of super tiring hike to the entrance of the canopy walk, it doesn’t really justify (at least for me). I guess I just had high expectation and full of imagination how the place and the view would be.

The beginning of our canopy walk Staying 2 planks away from one another Hwok Lok attempt to get some picture in the middle of the canopy bridge
At the first platform… Us all at the first platform… balance out! Aaron with no hands on the ropes
May-Li exiting the canopy walk Hwok Lok and Daniel about to go down from the canopy walk Me with some so-so pose… it was not that great. It is the company that matters :P

Nonetheless… it’s an experience! and the company! :) which I am sure there are other better canopy walks!

Back to makan time after the canopy walk

SJGC Family Day
SJGC Family Days was superb!… many new faces that I have not met before. Many games organized and everyone participated in them! Good job to the committee - planning out the games from having all age to join in to individual groups like mothers’ football, children wet their father and having the adults doing the watermelon human juicer. hehehehe….

What’s more important… gaps are bridged!… meeting family members and friends who we have not met before but heard of them. And a time to just chill and mingle.

March-ing into April

Can’t believe it is the end or March now. Before entering into April, this shall be my post of this month.

Many things happened… from personal life to serving in ministries and to work. How little of time I have in a day and yet some use for meaningless purposes. Many wishes I have made to have more time and now looking back, I wonder what will I do and make use of this time.

Many funs, laughters and good body aches…

Many lessons learnt… my weaknesses that makes me strong and show me that my strength alone is not enough for spiritual battles… planning, responsibility, appreciating whatever there is and my level of disciplin.

and…

Many chances, reminders, mercies and blessings from Him that I have taken for granted.

Thank you…
